Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Hoxie Ventures LLC (“NameDrop,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

We built NameDrop to help local businesses get found by AI assistants. We collect only what we need to do that, we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

NameDrop is operated from, and intended for users in, the United States.

Information you provide: the business details you enter to run a scan (business name, city, category, and optionally your website); the email address you provide to unlock a report or create an account; your account credentials; and the messages you send to our AI agent or support assistant.

Payment information: when you buy a Fix Kit or subscribe, payment is processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number — Stripe handles card data securely. We receive limited information such as confirmation that a payment succeeded, a transaction or customer reference, and your subscription status.

Information collected automatically: limited technical data, including a hashed (de-identified) version of your IP address used to prevent abuse and enforce usage limits, and essential cookies that keep you securely signed in.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (such as government IDs, health, or financial-account details), and we ask that you not enter such information into scans or chats.

To provide the Service: run scans; generate your report, diagnosis, Fix Kit, and AI agent responses; track your score over time; and keep your dashboard up to date.

To process transactions: take payment, deliver what you purchased, manage your subscription, and send receipts and billing notices.

To communicate with you: respond to requests, send results and account or service updates, and (where permitted) occasional product messages you can opt out of.

To secure and improve the Service: detect and prevent abuse, enforce usage limits and our Terms, debug, and make the product better.

To comply with law: meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We share information only with the service providers (“sub-processors”) that help us operate NameDrop, and only as needed to run the Service under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms:

• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing. • Supabase — secure database and account authentication. • Anthropic and OpenAI — the AI models that power scans, recognition checks, the diagnosis, the Fix Kit, the AI agent, and the support assistant (we send the business details and prompts needed to generate your results, not your payment information). • Our hosting and email providers (such as Vercel and Resend) — to run the website and send transactional messages.

We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of NameDrop, our users, or the public; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will continue to protect your information under this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies — primarily to keep you securely signed in and to operate core features. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Because these cookies are essential, no cookie-consent banner is required; you can still control cookies through your browser, though disabling essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After account closure, we delete or de-identify personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (for example, transaction records for tax and accounting, and proof of subscription consent and cancellation, which we keep for the period required by applicable law). De-identified and aggregated data, which cannot reasonably identify you, may be retained to operate and improve the Service.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a portable copy, and opt out of certain processing. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no “Do Not Sell or Share” process to use — but you may still exercise the other rights above.

To make a request, email us at support@usenamedrop.com from the email associated with your account. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

If you are a California resident, you may also have the right to request the categories of personal information we collect and the purposes for which we use it — both of which are described in this Policy.

We use reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and trusted infrastructure providers, and we limit access to the data on a need-to-know basis. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work hard to safeguard your information and will notify you of a breach affecting your personal information as required by law.

NameDrop is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18; if you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

The Service and our content may link to third-party websites (for example, to a Google Business Profile or a competitor's site). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites; their policies govern your use of them.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves or the law changes. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by email or an in-product notice).
